WASHINGTON
My pots are part of an ongoing investigation rooted in aesthetic functionalism. My goal is to build pots that are a collaborative balance between my aesthetic ideals and the beauty of food while being both both utilitarian and rich in content. I often use my pots as a canvas for drawings of objects and scenes to be the focus of contemplation as metaphors. The objects depicted in the drawings are chosen based on their simultaneous physical strength and potential fragility. They are an amalgamation of dreams, travel and daily life that explore the ideas of self, both conscious and unconscious, protection and voyeurism.
