A consistent point of departure for my work has been the ceramic vessel and playing with the balance between form, function and design. I am interested in the way that pots have the unique ability to serve a multitude of roles and functions. They can create nostalgia, reference history or places, bring attention to more tactile or ergonomic concerns, and of course, serve a utilitarian role.

My most recent work draws imagery from the cloud motif as it has been used in Korean art and design. I am interested in the cloud's nature to be constantly in flux, which has been a source of reflection on my own vacillating sense of identity as a Korean-American.
